Reassessing Bone Marrow Aspirate and Trephine Biopsies in Staging for Paediatric and Young Adult Patients With Ewing Sarcoma and Rhabdomyosarcoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Ewing sarcoma (ES) and rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) are aggressive malignancies in children and adolescents where metastases impact prognosis. 18F‐fluoro‐2‐deoxy‐d‐glucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (FDG‐PET/CT) and bone marrow aspirate and trephine biopsies (BMAT) are used to identify disease involvement.

Double-layered nonlinear model predictive control based on Hammerstein–Wiener model with disturbance rejection

open access: yesMeasurement + Control, 2018
This paper presents the double-layered nonlinear model predictive control method for a continuously stirred tank reactor and a pH neutralization process that are subject to input disturbances and output disturbances at the same time.

Observer-based offset-free internal model control

open access: yesIFAC-PapersOnLine, 2017
A linear feedback control structure is proposed that allows internal model control design principles to be applied to unstable and marginally stable plants. The control structure comprises an observer using an augmented plant model, state estimate feedback and disturbance estimate feedback.

Effectiveness of Resistance Intradialytic Exercise Compared to Aerobic Intradialytic Exercise for Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis commonly experience reduced physical function, fatigue, poor sleep quality, and impaired health‐related quality of life. Intradialytic exercise has been proposed as a non‐pharmacological strategy to improve these outcomes.

Modelling and Offset-free Predictive Control of the Parallel-Type Double Inverted Pendulum

open access: yes2022 10th International Conference on Systems and Control (ICSC), 2022
This paper presents a nonlinear model of the parallel-type double inverted pendulum system with an elastic spring that produces opposing torques on the pendulums. The effects of solid and viscous frictional forces are considered in the developed model.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Hierarchical PIwFF–Koopman-Based Offset-Free MPC for AUV Trajectory Tracking: Simulation and Pool Experiments

open access: yesIEEE Access
Accurate trajectory tracking of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) is challenging because nonlinear hydrodynamics, actuator constraints, and persistent plant–model mismatch degrade controller performance.

Disturbance modeling and state estimation for offset-free predictive control with state-space process models

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, 2014
Disturbance modeling and design of state estimators for offset-free Model Predictive Control (MPC) with linear state-space process models is considered in the paper for deterministic constant-type external and internal disturbances (modeling errors). The

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Offset-free Energy-optimal Model Predictive Control for point-to-point motions [PDF]

open access: yes2015 American Control Conference (ACC), 2015
This paper discusses Offset-free Energy-optimal Model Predictive Control (offset-free EOMPC) which is a MPC algorithm to realize time-constrained energy-optimal point-to-point motion control with high positioning accuracy for linear time-invariant (LTI) systems. The offset-free EOMPC approach is developed based on our previous research - Energy-optimal
