Experimental Research on the Atomization Characteristics of Air-Induction Spray Based on Oil-Based Emulsion

open access: yesAgronomy
Spray drift is one of the major factors that causes pesticide loss and environmental pollution. Air-induction spray is an important anti-drift technology; however, the atomization characteristics of air-induction spray, particularly when the spray liquid

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

A digital image analysis approach to understand the microscopic and macroscopic phenomena in dissolved air flotation

open access: yesScientific Reports
Dissolved air flotation (DAF) is an effective method for separating suspended oil and solid particles from wastewater by utilizing small air bubbles. This study aims to investigate the impact of key factors, such as saturating pressure and water flow ...

Properties and Storage Stability of O/W Emulsion Replaced with Medium-Chain Fatty Acid Oil

open access: yesPolish Journal of Food and Nutrition Sciences, 2017
The properties and changes of an o/w emulsion(mayonnaise) as affected by the replacement of long-chain fatty acid oil with medium-chain fatty acid oil were studied. Different ratios of coconut oil (CNO) and rice bran oil (RBO) (0:100, 10:90, 20:80, 30:70

Peripheral lysosomes recruit PLEKHG3 to focal adhesions and restrain protrusion dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proximity‐dependent labeling at the LAMTOR complex revealed the Rho GEF PLEKHG3 as a lysosome‐proximal protein directing the study toward the influence of lysosome positioning on actin dynamics and cell motility. We show that PLEKHG3 colocalizes with lysosomes at focal adhesion sites and observe that forced peripheral dispersion of lysosomes hinders ...

Probing the Evaporation Dynamics of Ethanol/Gasoline Biofuel Blends Using Single Droplet Manipulation Techniques [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Using blends of bio-ethanol and gasoline as automotive fuel leads to a net decrease in the production of harmful emission compared to the use of pure fossil fuel. However, fuel droplet evaporation dynamics change depending on the mixing ratio.

Study on the Oil-Water Separation Performance of the Droplet Size Reconstruction Hydrocyclone

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2020
The size of oil droplet is one of the main factors that affect the separation performance of oil-water hydrocyclones. Enhancing the applicability of the hydrocyclones to oil droplets of different sizes can further improve the accuracy of oil-water ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.
