The Effect of Co-solvent on Esterification of Oleic Acid Using Amberlyst 15 as Solid Acid Catalyst in Biodiesel Production

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
The oleic acid solubility in methanol is low due to two phase separation, and this causes a slow reaction time in biodiesel production. Tetrahydrofuran as co-solvent can decrease the interfacial surface tension between methanol and oleic acid.

Genetic analysis of oleic acid and linoleic acid content in relation to oil quality in groundnut

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2018
The present study was conducted to estimate the heritability as well as relationship of oleic acid and linoleic acid with oil quality parameters among the backcross progenies in BC1F4 and BC1F5 generation of groundnut.

Demonstration of highly efficient dual gRNA CRISPR/Cas9 editing of the homeologous GmFAD2–1A and GmFAD2–1B genes to yield a high oleic, low linoleic and α-linolenic acid phenotype in soybean

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology, 2019
CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing is now revolutionizing the ability to effectively modify plant genomes in the absence of efficient homologous recombination mechanisms that exist in other organisms.

Selection of Agronomic Parameters and Construction of Prediction Models for Oleic Acid Contents in Rapeseed Using Hyperspectral Data

open access: yesAgronomy, 2023
High oleic acid oilseed rape is a hot research area in the development of functional oilseed rape. At present, the model of predicting the oleic acid content in rapeseed at the early growth stage based on hyperspectral technology lacks a mechanistic ...

Oleic acid induces apoptosis and autophagy in the treatment of Tongue Squamous cell carcinomas

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Oleic acid (OA), a main ingredient of Brucea javanica oil (BJO), is widely known to have anticancer effects in many tumors. In this study, we investigated the anticancer effect of OA and its mechanism in tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC).

Diamond-like carbon coating under oleic acid lubrication: Evidence for graphene oxide formation in superlow friction

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
The achievement of the superlubricity regime, with a friction coefficient below 0.01, is the Holy Grail of many tribological applications, with the potential to have a remarkable impact on economic and environmental issues.

Phase Equilibria in Triacylglycerols – Ethanol – Oleic Acid – Athyl Oleate Quasi-Quaternary System

open access: yesEurasian Chemico-Technological Journal, 2014
In order to use waste vegetable oils to produce biodiesel a possibility of reagents (sunflower oil and ethanol) mixture homogenization under the simultaneous effect of two cosolvents (oleic acid and ethyl oleate) was investigated.

Understanding of Contradiction on Concentration Effect on Stability, Physical Properties, Evaporation and Microexplosion Characteristics of Al/JP-10/Oleic Acid Nanofluid Fuel

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2022
An Al/JP-10/oleic acid nanofluid fuel system has demonstrated potential in advanced combustion for aviation turbine engines. To improve the energy density of nanofluid fuel, a higher Al concentration requirement needs to be met. Correspondingly, a higher

Comparison of diets enriched in stearic, oleic, and palmitic acids on inflammation, immune response, cardiometabolic risk factors, and fecal bile acid concentrations in mildly hypercholesterolemic postmenopausal women-randomized crossover trial.

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 2019
BACKGROUND Direct comparisons between SFAs varying in chain length, specifically palmitic acid (16:0) and stearic acid (18:0), relative to the latter's metabolic product, oleic acid (18:1), on cardiometabolic risk factors are limited. OBJECTIVE The aim

Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome: Role of Oleic Acid-Triggered Lung Injury and Inflammation

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, 2015
Lung injury especially acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) can be triggered by diverse stimuli, including fatty acids and microbes. ARDS affects thousands of people worldwide each year, presenting high mortality rate and having an economic impact.
