When applied extracellularly, OA produced a concentration dependent rise in cytosolic [Ca2+] ([Ca2+]cyt) when extracellular [Ca2+] (Ca2+]ext) was zero (presence of EGTA), suggesting that OA caused an intracellular release of Ca2+
