Quantum Dots and Perovskites‐Based Physically Unclonable Functions for Binary and Ternary Keys via Optical‐to‐Electrical Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates optoelectronic PUFs that improve on traditional optical and electrical PUFs. The absorber materials are randomly coated through spray coating, ligand exchange, and dynamic spin coating. Incident light generates wavelength‐dependent binary multikey and enhances security ternary keys, approaching near‐ideal inter‐ and intra ...

Oleic Acid Toxicity and Fat Embolism.

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1948
Conclusions and summaryIf, according to the findings of Davis and Dubois, albumin has the power of binding oleic acid in the ratio of 9 to 1, then the amounts of oleic acid injected exceeded the protective range in the dogs used in our experiments. The mechanism of the toxic action of oleic acid is problematical.

All‐Inorganic InP/ZnSe/ZnS Quantum Dots with Chalcogenidometallate Ligands for Biosolar Catalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intrinsic charge transfer limitations in core/shell QDs are addressed through a ligand‐induced band offset engineering (LBOE) strategy utilizing metal chalcogenide complex (MCC) ligands. The MCC‐functionalized InP/ZnSe/ZnS QDs exhibited remarkably augmented hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) generation.

Effect of a high intake of conjugated linoleic acid on lipoprotein levels in healthy human subjects. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2010
Trans fatty acids are produced either by industrial hydrogenation or by biohydrogenation in the rumens of cows and sheep. Industrial trans fatty acids lower high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, raise low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, and ...

Stimulation of plasmin activity by oleic acid [PDF]

open access: yesBiochemical Journal, 1992
The amidolytic activity of plasmin with the chromogenic substrate H-D-valyl-L-leucyl-L-lysine p-nitroanilide (S-2251) is stimulated by oleic acid in a dose-dependent and saturable fashion. The activity of plasmin on S-2251 in the presence of oleic acid followed a sigmoidal kinetic pattern, with an almost 4-fold stimulation of activity at 60 microM ...
