Spectrum and Bethe-Salpeter amplitudes of $\Omega$ baryons from lattice QCD

open access: yes, 2016
The $\Omega$ baryons with $J^P=3/2^\pm, 1/2^\pm$ are studied on the lattice in the quenched approximation. Their mass levels are ordered as $M_{3/2^+}

A Robust Adaptive One‐Sample‐Ahead Preview Super‐Twisting Sliding Mode Controller

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
Block Diagram of the Robust Adaptive One‐Sample‐Ahead Preview Super‐Twisting Sliding Mode Controller. ABSTRACT This article introduces a discrete‐time robust adaptive one‐sample‐ahead preview super‐twisting sliding mode controller. A stability analysis of the controller by Lyapunov criteria is developed to demonstrate its robustness in handling both ...

Using 3–6 differences in essential fatty acids rather than 3/6 ratios gives useful food balance scores

open access: yesNutrition & Metabolism, 2012
Background The vitamin-like omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids are converted in the body to a large family of hormones which act at selective receptors that occur on nearly every cell and tissue.

Graphs with $\chi=\Delta$ have big cliques

open access: yes, 2015
Brooks' Theorem states that if a graph has $\Delta\ge 3$ and $\omega \le \Delta$, then $\chi \le \Delta$. Borodin and Kostochka conjectured that if $\Delta\ge 9$ and $\omega\le \Delta-1$, then $\chi\le \Delta-1$.

Omega 3 Fatty Acids vs Omega 6 Fatty Acids

open access: yesCurrent Developments in Nutrition, 2022
OBJECTIVES: Dietary lipids have a very important role in nutrition and must be ingested in an appropriate proportion. Objective: To study the effect of w3 fatty acid supplementation of a diet containing sunflower oil (rich in fatty acids omega 6) as fat source, on serum fatty acid profiles of growing rats.

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

On the minimization of Dirichlet eigenvalues of the Laplace operator

open access: yes, 2013
We study the variational problem $$\inf \{\lambda_k(\Omega): \Omega\ \textup{open in}\ \R^m,\ |\Omega| < \infty, \ \h(\partial \Omega) \le 1 \},$$ where $\lambda_k(\Omega)$ is the $k$'th eigenvalue of the Dirichlet Laplacian acting in $L^2(\Omega)$, $\h(\

Bistable Mechanisms 3D Printing for Mechanically Programmable Vibration Control

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a 3D‐printed bistable mechanism integrated into tuned mass dampers (TMDs) for mechanically adaptive passive vibration suppression. Through optimized geometry, the bistable design provides adaptable vibration reduction across a broad range of scenarios, achieving effective vibration mitigation without complex controls or external ...

Probing Multi-Strange Dibaryon with Proton-Omega Correlation in High-energy Heavy Ion Collisions

open access: yes, 2016
Two-particle intensity correlation between the proton ($p$) and the Omega-baryon ($\Omega$) in high-energy heavy ion collisions is studied to unravel the possible spin-2 $p\Omega$ dibaryon recently suggested by lattice QCD simulations.
