Optic pathway and hypothalamic glioma, old problems, new paradigms
Optic pathway/hypothalamic gliomas (OP/HGs) are low-grade tumours that account for 3–5% of all pediatric CNS tumours. The majority of cases are diagnosed before the age of 20, and 75% before the age of 10 years. Presenting symptoms are essentially visual.

A therapeutic window for preventive therapy in NF1-associated optic pathway glioma [PDF]
Pediatric low-grade gliomas (pLGGs) are almost universally driven by abnormal activation of RAS-mediated MEK-ERK/MAPK signaling pathway. pLGGs predominantly occur in children, suggesting that they originate in an ERK-dependent neural stem/progenitor ...

Magnetic resonance imaging characteristics of glioblastoma of the optic pathway during adulthood
Glioma has been previously known as the most common adult brain tumor. Glioma of the optic pathway is predominated by low-grade neoplasms. High-grade glioma in adults is extremely rare. In this study, we present the case of a 46-year-old male patient who
