Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Particle Swarm Optimization Based Reactive Power Optimization

open access: yes, 2010
Reactive power plays an important role in supporting the real power transfer by maintaining voltage stability and system reliability. It is a critical element for a transmission operator to ensure the reliability of an electric system while minimizing the cost associated with it.

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Reactive power planning for regional power grids based on active and reactive power adjustments of DGs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
To deal with extreme overvoltage scenarios with small probabilities in regional power grids, the traditional reactive power planning model requires a huge VAR compensator investment. Obviously, such a decision that makes a large investment to cope with a

Reactive power optimization in large scale power systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems, 1992
Abstract This paper presents a new optimization algorithm for solving reactive power compensation (RPC) problems in complex power systems. The algorithm optimizes the reactive power flow, and determines the total amount of capacitors required and allocates them in electrical networks.

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.

A COMPUTER CALCULATION FOR TENTATIVE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT BY REACTIVE POWER COMPENSATION CONSIDERING SYSTEM UNBALANCED [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
An improvement of unbalanced distribution system operation is carried out by reactive power compensation. The lagging reactive power demand is compensated by allocating a number of three-phase shunt capacitors.
