Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Enhancing the removal of a diverse range of hazardous chemicals from wastewaters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Due to increasingly stringent legislation covering the discharge of hazardous chemicals into the environment, existing wastewater treatment processes need to be upgraded for their removal.

Modeling desorption kinetics of a persistent organic pollutant from field aged sediment using a bi-disperse particle size distribution

open access: yes, 2010
Purpose With the predicted climate change, it is expected that the chances of river flooding increase. During flood events, sediments will resuspend and when sediments are polluted, contaminants can be transferred to the surrounding water.

Biomass - Renewable Feedstock for Organic Chemicals ( [PDF]

open access: yesKemija u Industriji, 2009
Limited resources compel us to turn to renewable sources, new and old, that are capable of supporting sustainable development of the human society, and satisfying the demand in energy and materials.

Synthesis and nucleophilic aromatic substitution of 3-fluoro-5-nitro-1-(pentafluorosulfanyl)benzene

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2016
3-Fluoro-5-nitro-1-(pentafluorosulfanyl)benzene was prepared by three different ways: as a byproduct of direct fluorination of 1,2-bis(3-nitrophenyl)disulfane, by direct fluorination of 4-nitro-1-(pentafluorosulfanyl)benzene, and by fluorodenitration of ...

Facile Preparation and Functionalization of Cellulose Microgels and their Properties and Application in Stabilizing O/W Emulsions

open access: yesBioResources, 2016
The preparation and functionalization of cellulose microgels (CMGs) has been presented. Only a trace concentration of CMGs (< 0.2 wt.%) stabilized oil-in-water (O/W) emulsions and produced high internal phase emulsions (HIPE).

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

THE CHEMICAL FRACTIONATION OF LYMPHATIC ORGANS [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Cell Biology, 1956
A method for chemically fractionating lymphatic organs has been described. The method has been shown to be applicable to bovine palatine tonsils, sheep palatine tonsils, and bovine thymus. Approximately 50 per cent of the dry weight of tonsils and about 30 per cent of thymus has been found to be soluble in the 0.15 M NaCl extract.
