Palladium-catalyzed enantioselective β-hydride elimination for the construction of remote stereocenters

open access: yesNature Communications
The β-H elimination is a crucial elementary step in transition-metal catalysis, but controlling the stereochemistry of this process has been underdeveloped.

Fractions of particulate organic matter in soils depending upon farmyard manure and mineral fertilization

open access: yes, 2002
In a long-term fertilization trial particulate organic matter (POM) was investigated after 20 years of farmyard manure vs. mineral fertilization at different levels with the method of Meijboom et al. (1995).

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Application of Comb-Type Fluorocarbon Polymer Surfactants as Dispersants in Insecticidal and Fungicidal Suspension Concentrates

open access: yesMolecules
To investigate the application of novel comb-type fluorinated polymeric surfactants in suspension concentrates (SCs), we used the optimized surfactants (Comb-S 1, Comb-S 2, and Comb-S 3) as dispersants, with commercial dispersants as controls, to prepare

Controls on the composition and lability of dissolved organic matter in Siberia's Kolyma River basin

open access: yes, 2012
High-latitude northern rivers export globally significant quantities of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) to the Arctic Ocean. Climate change, and its associated impacts on hydrology and potential mobilization of ancient organic matter from permafrost, is ...

Biodegradability of dissolved organic carbon in permafrost soils and aquatic systems: A meta-analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
As Arctic regions warm and frozen soils thaw, the large organic carbon pool stored in permafrost becomes increasingly vulnerable to decomposition or transport.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
