MAGNESIUM-CONTAINING DRUGS IN CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES

open access: yesРациональная фармакотерапия в кардиологии, 2015
At present experimental and clinical data confirming efficacy of magnesium-containing drugs in different cardiovascular diseases are obtained. Physiological significance of magnesium is determined by its intracellular fraction.

Apolipoproteins of the orotic acid fatty liver: implications for the biogenesis of plasma lipoproteins.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1988
Rats fed orotic acid develop fatty livers characterized by triglyceride-laden, membrane-bounded vesicles designated ''liposomes.'' We have measured the levels of apolipoproteins in isolated liposomes and other subcellular fractions by SDS-polyacrylamide ...

Sudden anaerobization in Amphibacillus xylanus increases intracellular labile ferrous iron and inhibits cell growth

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, Volume 16, Issue 10, Page 1911-1924, October 2026.
Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...

Nascent high density lipoproteins from liver perfusates of orotic acid-fed rats.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1990
Uniformly fatty livers from orotic acid-fed rats secreted almost no very low density lipoproteins (VLDL) but normal amounts of nascent high density lipoproteins (HDL) accumulated in perfusates.

Phenotype‐guided etiologic workup in a prospective cohort of 144 adults with developmental and epileptic encephalopathy

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, Volume 11, Issue 5, Page 1635-1650, October 2026.
Abstract Objectives Adults with developmental and epileptic encephalopathies (DEEs) often enter adult neurology care without etiologic clarification because of incomplete transition from pediatric services, outdated investigations, and attenuation of childhood electro‐clinical features over time.

Stable isotope dilution analysis of orotic acid and uracil in amniotic fluid [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
Rapid, sensitive and accurate stable isotope dilution assays were developed for the measurement of orotic acid and uracil in amniotic fluid. The method utilizes [15N2]orotic acid and [15N2]uracil as internal standards, isolation by liquid partition ...

An Optimized Diagnostic Approach for Adults With Suspected Inherited Metabolic Disorders

open access: yesJournal of Inherited Metabolic Disease, Volume 49, Issue 5, September 2026.
A multidisciplinary strategy that integrates deep phenotyping with expert genetic interpretation substantially increases the likelihood of reaching a diagnosis in adults suspected of having an IMD. ABSTRACT Inherited metabolic disorders (IMDs) arise from defects in metabolic pathways essential for normal biochemical function.

Orotic acid salts as sources of orotic acid and various minerals added for nutritional purposes to food supplements

open access: yes, 2009
The petitioners have submitted only few data concerning the toxicity of orotic acid and none on the salts. Orotic acid has a low acute toxicity. In repeated doses orotic acid induces fatty livers in the rat, but not in other species tested.

Safety of magnesium orotate dihydrate as a novel food pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2015/2283 and bioavailability of magnesium from this source in the context of Directive 2002/46/EC

open access: yesEFSA Journal
Following a request from the European Commission, the EFSA Panel on Nutrition, Novel Foods and Food Allergens (NDA) was asked to deliver an opinion on the safety of magnesium orotate dihydrate as a novel food (NF) pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2015/2283 ...
