A Soft, Flexible Implant for Wireless Photothermal–Pyroelectric Neurostimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A replication strategy is used to enlarge the exposed surface area of barium titanate within flexible films with embedded carbon nanotubes, enabling efficient photothermal‐pyroelectric stimulation. Polar crystalline nanosheets show superior performance in guiding neural progenitor cells toward neuronal differentiation.

Pengaruh pra-perlakuan osmotik dalam pengeringan terhadap karakteristik buah kering: meta analisis

open access: yesAgrointek
Osmotic pretreatment is commonly used in drying to preserve the quality of dried fruit. Several studies have been conducted to evaluate the impact of osmotic pretreatment on the quality of dried food, but, these evaluations have mainly been qualitative ...

The Maize ZmbHLH118 Transcription Factor Regulates Vacuolar Nitrate Loading by the NO3− Transporter ZmCLCa

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In maize, the bHLH transcription factor ZmbHLH118 directly binds to the promoter of ZmCLCa and inhibits its expression. Tonoplast‐localized ZmCLCa mediates NO3− influx into the vacuole to regulate intracellular NO3− homeostasis, modulating nitrate uptake and metabolism, plant growth, and grain yield.

Study on the osmotic pre-treatment and infrared radiation on drying kinetics and colour changes during drying of agricultural products

open access: yesASEAN Journal on Science and Technology for Development, 2017
A combination of intermittent infrared and continuous convection heating was used to dehydrate various osmotically pretreated sample of potato (in solutions of 10%, 20% and 30% NaCl) and pineapple (in solutions of 30%, 50%, 70% Brix). In one set of runs,

Self-diffusion of polymers in cartilage as studied by pulsed field gradient NMR [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Pulsed field gradient (PFG) nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) was used to investigate the self-diffusion behaviour of polymers in cartilage. Polyethylene glycol and dextran with different molecular weights and in different concentrations were used as ...

RENAL‐CHIP: Rejection Evaluation via Non‐Invasive Analysis of Circulating Podocytes With Herringbone‐Chip Isolation Platform

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
RENAL‐CHIP converts 1 mL of peripheral blood into a biopsy‐equivalent readout of renal‐allograft fate. By magnetic capture and release of donor‐derived circulating podocytes through a herringbone microfluidic chip, 84% capture, 96% release and single‐cell RNA evidence of rejection‐specific immunity are achieved.

Beyond Extracellular Vesicle (EV) Hype: Practical Solutions and Remaining Hurdles in EV Research, Manufacturing, and Clinical Translation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are nanoscale mediators of intercellular communication with diverse molecular cargoes that reflect their cell of origin. Advances in isolation, detection, and single‐particle analytics have revealed increasing molecular and functional heterogeneity, while exposing limitations in how EV identity and activity are ...
