A microRNA regulatory mechanism of osteoblast differentiation [PDF]
Growing evidence shows that microRNAs (miRNAs) regulate various developmental and homeostatic events in vertebrates and invertebrates. Osteoblast differentiation is a key step in proper skeletal development and acquisition of bone mass; however, the physiological role of non-coding small RNAs, especially miRNAs, in osteoblast differentiation remains ...

Hedgehog signaling in tumor cells facilitates osteoblast-enhanced osteolytic metastases. [PDF]
The remodeling process in bone yields numerous cytokines and chemokines that mediate crosstalk between osteoblasts and osteoclasts and also serve to attract and support metastatic tumor cells.

Effect of asymmetric dimethylarginine on osteoblastic differentiation [PDF]
Asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) is an endogenous inhibitor of nitric oxide synthase (NOS) that accumulates in renal insufficiency and may be a uremic toxin. To determine whether ADMA inhibits bone metabolism, we investigated the in vitro effect of ADMA on osteoblastic differentiation in mouse bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs).The ...

Therapeutic Extracellular Vesicles from Synovial Fibroblast‐Primed MSCs for Osteoarthritis Treatment
EVs derived from the microenvironment of SFs transferred MSCs (miSF‐MSC‐EVs) enhanced the expression of miRNAs that regulate cell migration, cell adhesion, and the TGF‐β signaling pathway, demonstrating superior anti‐inflammatory and cartilage regeneration effects compared to conventional MSC‐EVs.

Fibronectin regulates calvarial osteoblast differentiation [PDF]
ABSTRACT The secretion of fibronectin by differentiating osteoblasts and its accumulation at sites of osteogenesis suggest that fibronectin participates in bone formation. To test this directly, we determined whether fibronectin-cell interactions regulate progressive differentiation of cultured fetal rat calvarial osteoblasts.
