circCAMSAP1 promotes osteosarcoma progression and metastasis by sponging miR-145-5p and regulating FLI1 expression

open access: yesMolecular Therapy: Nucleic Acids, 2021
Osteosarcoma is the most common primary malignant bone tumor in adolescents. While chemotherapy combined with surgery can improve the prognosis of some patients, chemo-resistance is still a huge obstacle in osteosarcoma treatment.

LncRNA HIF2PUT inhibited osteosarcoma stem cells proliferation, migration and invasion by regulating HIF2 expression

open access: yesArtificial Cells, Nanomedicine, and Biotechnology, 2019
Purpose The function of lncRNAs in cancer stem cells (CSCs) remains to be elucidated. The present study aimed to investigate the regulating role of a novel lncRNA, hypoxia-inducible factor-2α (HIF-2α) promoter upstream transcript (HIF2PUT), in ...

The effect of sodium nitroprusside in scaffolds for synergetic gas‐photothermal therapy of osteosarcoma

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
The PCLA‐SNP scaffolds can produce photothermal agents in situ under ultraviolet radiation. Then, the scaffold can release nitric oxide gas spontaneously and generate hyperthermia under near‐infrared laser to enhance ablation of bone tumors. Furthermore, the calcium and iron ions released from PCLA‐SNP scaffolds can accelerate bone regeneration ...

Cuproplasia and cuproptosis, two sides of the coin

open access: yesCancer Communications, EarlyView.
Abstract Copper is an essential micronutrient in the human body, mainly acting as a crucial cofactor required for a wide range of physiological processes across nearly all cell types. Recent advances revealed that tumor cells seize copper to fulfill their rapid proliferation, metastasis, immune evasion, and so on by reprogramming the copper regulatory ...

Osteosarcoma in Pregnancy

open access: yesJournal of Nepal Medical Association, 2005
Osteosarcoma in pregnant women is rare. Delay in diagnosis may be due to lack of any signs or symptomsduring gestation, clinical misdiagnoses, religious attitude and refusal of the patients. Most cases soft-tissueand bone tumors during pregnancy can be managed successfully with surgery during gestation.

Immunotherapy of osteosarcoma based on immune microenvironment modulation

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
Osteosarcoma is a highly malignant tumor with unsatisfactory therapeutic outcomes achieved by chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery. As an emerging oncological treatment, immunotherapy has shown potential in the clinical management of many tumors but ...

Image based cellular contractile force evaluation with small-world network inspired CNN: SW-UNet [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
We propose an image-based cellular contractile force evaluation method using a machine learning technique. We use a special substrate that exhibits wrinkles when cells grab the substrate and contract, and the wrinkles can be used to visualize the force magnitude and direction.
