Osteosarcomas of the Heart [PDF]
We reviewed nine primary cardiac sarcomas with osteosarcomatous differentiation. The patients' ages ranged from 24 to 67 (mean 38 years). All tumors were surgical specimens from the left atrium; many were clinically diagnosed as atypical myxomas. In eight cases complete excisions were attempted, one requiring reconstruction with grafting; one tumor was

Overexpression of CHRDL2 in colon cancer cells makes them more stem‐like and resistant to chemo‐ and radiotherapy. CHRDL2‐high cells have upregulation of the WNT pathway, genes involved in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). This leads to quicker repair of damaged DNA and more cell migration.

MicroRNA-448 suppresses osteosarcoma cell proliferation and invasion through targeting EPHA7. [PDF]
Osteosarcoma is the most common type of malignant bone tumor, often affecting adolescents and children. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a group of small, non-protein coding, endogenous RNAs that play critical roles in osteosarcoma tumorigenesis.

Telangiectatic Osteosarcoma [PDF]
Purpose. To review records of 8 patients with telangiectatic osteosarcoma (TOS) and determine whether pathologic fractures correlate with recurrence and survival. Methods. Records of 4 men and 4 women aged 17 to 44 (mean, 28) years treated for TOS were reviewed. Results. Of the 8 patients, 4 developed a pathologic fracture and 4 did not. In each group,

Identifying prognostic targets in metastatic prostate cancer beyond AR
Genome‐wide functional screens combined with a large gene expression database and clinical outcomes can identify new therapeutic vulnerabilities in prostate cancer. Eight potentially druggable targets demonstrated strong dependency in cell lines, were associated with worse prognosis clinically, and showed evidence of protein expression in prostate ...

Current trends in single‐cell RNA sequencing applications in diabetes mellitus
Single‐cell RNA sequencing is a powerful approach to decipher the cellular and molecular landscape at a single‐cell resolution. The rapid development of this technology has led to a wide range of applications, including the detection of cellular and molecular mechanisms and the identification and introduction of novel potential diagnostic and ...

Although osteosarcoma represents the second most common primary bone tumor, spinal involvement is rare, accounting for 3%–5% of all osteosarcomas. The most frequent symptom of osteosarcoma is pain, which appears in almost all patients, whereas more than 70% exhibit neurologic deficit. At a molecular level, it is a tumor of great genetic complexity and

Immunotherapy for osteosarcoma [PDF]
Osteosarcoma (OS) is the most common malignant bone tumor and often occurs in children. Chemotherapy with methotrexate, cisplatin, doxorubicin, and ifosfamide has greatly improved the prognosis of patients with OS, and most patients have been able to preserve their limbs.
