Integrins are the major receptors mediating adhesion to the extracellular matrix. Following ligand binding, conformational changes of integrins induce the recruitment of multiple signaling and scaffolding proteins that connect integrin tails to the actin cytoskeleton and permit activation of signaling pathways regulating cell proliferation, apoptosis ...

The American Journal of Surgical Pathology, 1987
The normal gross and microscopic morphologic features of the ovary are described. Abnormal findings that may be encountered on microscopic examination of the ovary and that may create problems in interpretation are also discussed. The hormonal control and function of the various ovarian compartments are summarized.
