Oxidative Decomposition of Off‐Cathode Discharge Deposits During Charging in Li–O2 Secondary Batteries

In lithium–oxygen secondary batteries, when using cathode interwoven with conductive carbon fibers (CFs) and nonconductive polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) fibers (CF/PPS hybrid cathode), Li2O2 formed on the PPS fibers during discharge. This off‐cathode Li2O2 was oxidatively decomposed on the CFs during charge via dissolution into the electrolyte.
