Abstract Some new polyfluorinated 1,3,4-oxadiazoles have been obtained via a two-step method. The cycloadditions of the 1,3,4-oxadiazoles have been studied and an analysis of the energies of the frontier orbitals calculated by the MNDO method indicates a LUMO-dependent pathway for cycloaddition.

Banana-Shaped 1,2,4-Oxadiazole Analogues of 1,3,4-Oxadiazoles
Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals Science and Technology. Section A. Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals, 2001Abstract In the last years bent banana-shaped mesomorphic molecules found an increasingly great interest among theoreticians and experimentalists due to the nature of this type of liquid crystals to exhibit a spontaneous polarization in the absence of any chiral group in the molecules.

Bioisosterism: 1,2,4‐Oxadiazole Rings
ChemMedChem, 2023AbstractAlthough studies in drug discovery have gained momentum in recent years, the conversion of drugs in use today into less toxic derivatives with pharmacologically superior properties is still of great importance in drug research. Bioisosterism facilitates the conversion of drugs into derivatives that present more positive pharmacological and ...
