Biochemical and structural characterization of chlorite dismutase enzyme from Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Chlorite dismutase (Cld) is a heme b oxidoreductase that can decompose chlorite (ClO2−$$ {\mathrm{ClO}}_2^{-} $$ or OClO−) into harmless chloride (Cl−) and dioxygen (O2) with high turnover rates. Cld was found to be involved in different biological processes, and the rare reaction it catalyzes makes it a prominent enzyme for different applications. The

The membrane‐bound heme flavoprotein MsrQ is the specific electron donor for the periplasmic methionine sulfoxide reductase MsrP. Analysis of its flavin environment revealed that ubiquinone (UQ) is a cofactor for MsrQ. However, redox studies demonstrate that UQ cannot function as an electron donor for the MsrPQ system.

Sex‐dimorphic gene regulation in murine macrophages across niches
In this study, we perform a meta‐analysis of new and publicly available RNA‐seq datasets from male and female mouse macrophages across eight niches to identify conserved sex‐dimorphic gene expression patterns. We found that three sex chromosome‐linked genes are always differentially expressed between males and females: Ddx3y, Eif2s3y and Xist. However,

Hyperuricaemia in type 1 Gaucher disease: is uric acid a biomarker for disease severity?
Abstract Background Elevated serum uric acid (SUA) levels were observed in Gaucher disease type 1 (GD1) patients followed for two decades in northern Israel. There are no previous reports regarding hyperuricaemia in GD1 patients. Aims We aimed to evaluate the frequency of hyperuricaemia in GD1 patients and its correlation to disease severity ...
