Antimicrobial Peptides as Infection Imaging Agents: Better Than Radiolabeled Antibiotics

open access: yesInternational Journal of Peptides, Volume 2012, Issue 1, 2012., 2012
Nuclear medicine imaging techniques offer whole body imaging for localization of number and site of infective foci inspite of limitation of spatial resolution. The innate human immune system contains a large member of important elements including antimicrobial peptides to combat any form of infection.

Calculation of Solubility of Oxyquinolinates

open access: yesJournal of Analytical Sciences, Methods and Instrumentation, 2014
The solubilities (s, mol/L) of different oxyquinolinates (oxinates, MeL2) are calculated using the formulae obtained according to elementary algebra, with the use of Excel spreadsheets. The calculations are involved with solution of algebraic equation of the third degree, obtained on the basis of concentration balances. The root of this equation, ,

Exophthalmos in Rabbits Produced by Oxyquinoline Sulphate.

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1935
The intravenous injection into rabbits of oxyquinoline sulphate solution (5%) in amounts of 0.8 to 1.5 cc. per kilo leads to bilateral exophthalmos within 1 to 3 minutes, and the degree of exophthalmos depends, as a rule, upon the amount of solution injected.

The use of oxyquinoline in chromosome analysis. With appendix: The effect of oxyquinoline on protoplasmic viscosity

open access: yes, 1950
44 pág., 19 fig. [EN] Vital pretreatments of root tips with 8-oxyquinoline result in improvements of the chromosome pictures in the folloving respects: Metaphase chromosomes are contracted, the spíndle is destroyed and does not interfere with the spreading of the chromosomes at the squashing.
