Biotransformation of p-coumaric acid by Paecilomyces variotii
Letters in Applied Microbiology, 2006To investigate the biotransformation of p-coumaric acid into p-hydroxybenzoic acid (p-HBA) by Paecilomyces variotii Bainier MTCC 6581.As a result of p-coumaric acid degradation by P. variotii, three phenolic metabolites, p-hydroxybenzaldehyde (p-HBAld), p-HBA and protocatechuic acid were formed. These phenolics were detected using TLC and HPLC.

p-Coumaric acid derivatives from Artemisia monosperma
Phytochemistry, 1990Abstract Artemisia monosperma afforded four flavonoids, two acetylenes, eight p -hydroxyacetophenone derivatives and three p -coumaric acid derivatives, two of them being new. The structures were elucidated by spectral methods. The flavonoids present are naringenin 7-methyl ether, eriodictyol 7-methyl ether, quercetin 3,7-dimethyl ether and ...

p-Coumaric acid abatement by ozone in aqueous solution
Water Research, 1995Abstract The ozonation process of p-coumaric acid in aqueous solution is studied by identification and quantitative evaluation of intermediates and final oxidation products. In all the investigated pH range (2.0–8.0) the initial oxidation step is represented by the direct attack of ozone to the exocyclic double bond, following oxidation steps being ...

Intensification of p-coumaric acid heterologous production using extractive biphasic fermentation
Bioresource Technology, 2021p-coumaric acid (p-CA) can be produced from D-glucose by an engineered S. cerevisiae strain. p-CA has antimicrobial properties and retro-inhibition activity. Moreover, p-CA is a hydrophobic compound, limiting its accumulation in fermentation broth. To overcome these issues all at once, a liquid-liquid extraction in-situ product recovery process using ...

Efficient biosynthesis of (2S)-naringenin from p-coumaric acid in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2020(2S)-Naringenin, a (2S)-flavanone, is widely used in the food, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries because of its diverse physiological activities. The production of (2S)-naringenin in microorganisms provides an ideal source that reduces the cost of ...

p-Coumaric acid attenuates high-fat diet-induced oxidative stress and nephropathy in diabetic rats.
Journal of animal physiology and animal nutrition, 2021The prevalence of persistent hyperglycaemia during diabetes, impair antioxidant defence system and generate reactive oxygen species, which majorly contribute to its progression and associated complications.

Fluorometric determination of p-coumaric acid in beer
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 1988A new spectrofluorometric method to determine p-coumaric acid in beer has been developed. After the pH of the samples was adjusted to 2, impurities were extracted into hexane. Phenolics were then extracted into ethyl acetate, dried, and redissolved in water.

Benefits of p-coumaric acid in mice with rotenone-induced neurodegeneration
Metabolic Brain Disease, 2022The paper examines the use of natural antioxidant and anti-inflammation substances as therapeutic candidates for brain disease. Para-coumaric acid (pCA), a phenolic compound with a variety of medicinal properties, was used against deterioration caused by various diseases.
