p-Coumaric acid abatement by ozone in aqueous solution

Water Research, 1995
Abstract The ozonation process of p-coumaric acid in aqueous solution is studied by identification and quantitative evaluation of intermediates and final oxidation products. In all the investigated pH range (2.0–8.0) the initial oxidation step is represented by the direct attack of ozone to the exocyclic double bond, following oxidation steps being ...

Dichloro-p-coumaric Acid and Coumaric Acid: their Effect on the Geotropism of Roots

Nature, 1970
WE present here the first clear evidence that the positive geotropic response of roots can be prevented by dichloro-p-coumaric acid and p-coumaric acid.

Tyrosinase inhibitory p‐Coumaric acid from Ginseng leaves

Phytotherapy Research, 1999
By bioassay-guided fractionation using mushroom tyrosinase, p-coumaric acid was characterized as the principal tyrosinase inhibitor from the fresh leaves of Panax ginseng (Araliaceae). It inhibited the oxidation of L-tyrosine more strongly than that of L-3, 4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (L-DOPA) by this enzyme.

Fluorometric determination of p-coumaric acid in beer

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 1988
A new spectrofluorometric method to determine p-coumaric acid in beer has been developed. After the pH of the samples was adjusted to 2, impurities were extracted into hexane. Phenolics were then extracted into ethyl acetate, dried, and redissolved in water.

A spectrophotometric study of the ionization of p-coumaric acid

Spectrochimica Acta, 1965
Abstract A spectrophotometric study of the ionized and un-ionized forms of the cis and trans stereoisomerides of p-coumaric acid in ethanol and water solution has been made. The complex spectra were interpreted by calculation of the corresponding incremental second derivative functions.

Biosynthesis of bakuchiol from cinnamic and p-coumaric acids

Phytochemistry, 1984
Abstract Specific incorporation of l -[U-14C]phenylalanine, [U-14C]cinnamic acid and p[2-14C]coumaric acid into bakuchiol has been observed in Psoralea corylifolia. Our findings show that the aromatic moiety along with two carbon atoms of the side chain are biosynthetically derived via phenylpropane pathway and not by the alternate pathway proposed ...

Metabolism of p-coumaric acid during lignification of a bamboo

Phytochemistry, 1970
Abstract Occurrence of cinnamic acid-4-hydroxylase in the shoot of bamboos, asparagus, gingko and in seedlings of Japanese cedar was found by using their sliced tissues. Cell-free extraction of the hydroxylase was tentatively achieved with asparagus shoot.

p-Coumaric acid derivatives from Artemisia monosperma

Phytochemistry, 1990
Abstract Artemisia monosperma afforded four flavonoids, two acetylenes, eight p -hydroxyacetophenone derivatives and three p -coumaric acid derivatives, two of them being new. The structures were elucidated by spectral methods. The flavonoids present are naringenin 7-methyl ether, eriodictyol 7-methyl ether, quercetin 3,7-dimethyl ether and ...

Identification of QTLs associated with p-coumaric acid and ferulic acid in barley

Euphytica, 2019
Phenolic acids in plants is receiving more attention because of their nutritive function and essential roles in plant growth. However, the genetics of phenolic acids in barley is still unclear. In this study, two main phenolic acids, i.e. ferulic acid (FA) and p-coumaric acid (p-CA), were analyzed in the grains of a double haploid population derived ...

Analysis of Inhibitory Behaviour of Ferulic Acid and p-Coumaric Acid on Saccharomyces Cerevisiae Cells

2023
Metabolomics has been widely used to identify changes in relevant differential metabolites. The metabolites of Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells supplemented with ferulic acid and p-coumaric acid were prepared and extracted. Untargeted metabolomics analysis of saccharomyces cerevisiae metabolites was performed.
