Targeting a Myeloid–Regulatory B Cell Network Reverses Immune Paralysis in Periprosthetic Joint Infections

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Periprosthetic joint infection establishes a sophisticated immunosuppressive network between CXCR4+ PMN‐MDSCs and Bregs, inducing profound CD8+ T cell paralysis. Alendronate effectively disrupts this CXCR4+ PMN‐MDSC–Breg axis by targeting STAT3, thereby restoring local immune surveillance.

P16 Western Blot.

open access: yes, 2015
Representative p16 western blot of HPV-positive and -negative antrochoanal polyps (ACP), nasal polyps (NP), nasal turbinates (NT) and oropharyngeal carcinoma (OPC). Two HPV-positive carcinomas are showing strong p16 bands. Three of four HPV-positive.

Beyond Potency: Emerging Determinants and Optimization Strategies Enhancing Therapeutic Efficacy of Adult Stem Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Adult stem cell therapy requires more than high in vitro potency. This review proposes a systems framework in which cell‐intrinsic programs, instructive microenvironmental cues, and pre‐/post‐delivery engineering are co‐designed under standardized translational rules.

Expectations and Reality: The Lived Experiences of Australians With Psychosocial Disability Within the NDIS

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT While Australia's National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) was founded on principles of choice and control, for people with significant mental health challenges (what the NDIS calls ‘psychosocial disability’) these ideals often remain elusive. Support systems continue to be fractured and in the context of ongoing policy reforms, it is vital

p16 in HPV-associated cancers

open access: yesOncotarget, 2013
Infections with high-risk human papillomaviruses (HPV) account for approximately 5% of all human cancers. Cervical cancer, in particular, is almost universally caused by “high-risk” HPV infections and these HPVs also cause a large fraction of other anogenital tract cancers as well as oral carcinomas.

Longitudinal Phenotypic Trajectories in GNAO1‐Related Disorders: Defining Disease Progression and Clinical Profiles

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Pathogenic variants in GNAO1 cause a spectrum of epilepsy, movement disorders, and developmental impairment. Clinical heterogeneity complicates prognosis and therapeutic development. We present the first longitudinal natural history study of GNAO1‐related disorders (GNAO1‐RD) to delineate phenotypic trajectories. Methods Sixty‐six individuals

Estudo genético do gene p16 pela técnica de PCR-SSCP e expressão de proteína p16 em melanomas de mucosa oral e melanomas cutâneos Genetic analysis of p16 gene by PCR-SSCP technique and protein p16 expression in oral mucosa and skin melanomas

Dual Action of Dipyridamole in Experimental Rheumatoid Arthritis: Suppression of Joint Inflammation and Upregulation of Muscle Anabolism via Adenosine and AMPK Pathways

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Rheumatoid sarcopenia, characterized by the progressive loss of skeletal muscle mass and function, is a frequent comorbidity in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), linked to prolonged, severe systemic inflammation. Purinergic signaling (adenosine, AMP, and ATP) plays a crucial role in inflammation, myogenesis, and muscle hypertrophy.
