Physiological roles of FSH and LH in red seabream, Pagrus major

Fish Physiology and Biochemistry, 2003
The duality of gonadotropins (GTHs), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH), has been confirmed in most teleost species, but very little is known about their biological functions. To elucidate the physiological roles of FSH and LH in fish reproduction, the expression profiles of GTH subunit genes during gonadal development were

[Histogenesis of Sea Bream (Pagrus major) enameloid].

Tsurumi shigaku. Tsurumi University dental journal, 1990
The enameloid matrix consists of a collagenous matrix, and non collagenous proteins. Mature enameloid is highly mineralised similarly to mammalian enamel a large amount of the protein being removed. This is in contrast with bone, cementum, and dentin, where a large amount of collagen remains in the completed tissue.

Brain morphogenesis of the red sea bream, Pagrus major (teleostei).

Brain, behavior and evolution, 1995
Post-embryonic morphogenesis and regional volumetric growth of the brain in larval and juvenile red sea bream, Pagrus major, were analyzed by employing a computer-aided three-dimensional reconstruction of serial sections of the head. The relative volume of the optic tectum rapidly increases after hatching until day 8, implying the importance of the ...

Waterborne copper disrupts circadian rhythm in red seabream (Pagrus major)

Biological Rhythm Research, 2017
AbstractWe investigated the effect of copper (Cu) on circadian rhythms in red seabream, Pagrus major, under various concentrations of Cu (10, 20, 30 and 40 μg/L). To examine variability in circadian rhythms, we measured changes in the period 2 (Per2), cryptochrome 1 (Cry1), serotonin and arylalkylamine N-acetyltransferase (AANAT2) proteins.
