Cardiotoxicity of palladium compounds [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Medical Biochemistry, 2013
Previous studies have shown that palladium has toxic effects on the kidney and liver, leads to deterioration of the general condition of animals, and could cause allergy in animals and humans. Considering the limited data about the influence of palladium

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Recent advances in Palladium(II)-catalyzed activation of aromatic ring C–H bonds

open access: yesJournal of Saudi Chemical Society, 2020
Palladium is a precious metal, which has been widely used for various organic transformations in the past decades. Currently, the palladium-catalyzed direct activation of the aromatic ring C–H bonds is one of the frontier areas in organic chemistry, and ...

Palladium-catalyzed allene synthesis enabled by β-hydrogen elimination from sp 2 -carbon

open access: yesNature Communications, 2021
β-Hydrogen elimination is a fundamental reaction in palladium catalysis, however, the eliminated β-hydrogen is usually attached to a sp 3 -carbon. Here, the authors report a palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction involving a β-vinylic hydrogen ...

Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...
