Physicochemical Properties of Palm Kernel Oil and Palm Kernel Olein Blends
Palm kernel oil (PKO) and palm kernel olein (PKOo) have limited application due to rapid crystallisation properties and excessive foaming during heating, respectively. In this study, a series of PKO and PKOo blends were prepared at different concentration and analysed for slip melting point (SMP), solid fat content (SFC), triacylglycerols (TAGs ...

Abstract The influence of pretreatment of rice bran oil using fluorescent and sunlight radiations on its colour and their influence on its chemical composition and oxidative stability were assessed. Rice bran oil was stored under sunlight, fluorescent light and ambient conditions for 60 days. Oil samples were collected every 15 days for analysis.

High Oleic Enhancement of Palm Olein via Enzymatic Interesterification
Acidolysis to incorporate oleic acid into refined, bleached and deodorized (RBD) palm olein (IV 56) using various lipases (enzymes) as catalysts to increase the oleic content of the oil was investigated. Immobilised lipases (lipase PLG, Lipozyme TL IM, Lipozyme RM IM and Novozym 435) and non-immobilised lipase (lipase PL) were used in this study to ...

The objective of the study was to evaluate the effects of different vegetable oils [red palm olein (RPO), palm olein (PO), corn oil (CO) and coconut oil (COC)] on lipid profile in rat. Sixty six Sprague Dawley male rats were randomly divided into eleven groups of 6 rats per group and were treated with 15% concentrations of RPO, PO, CO and COC for 4 and
