Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

A meta-analysis of Prognostic factor of Pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
Pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (pNENs) are a group of clinically rare and heterogeneous diseases of the pancreas. However, the prognostic factors for this disease in patients still remain controversial.

A Clinical and Pathophysiological Overview of Intestinal and Systemic Diseases Associated with Pancreatic Disorders: Causality or Casualty?

open access: yesBiomedicines, 2023
The relationship between chronic intestinal disease, including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and celiac disease (CelD), and pancreatic disorders has been little investigated.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Deciphering the molecular mechanism of tetrandrine in inhibiting hepatocellular carcinoma and increasing sorafenib sensitivity by combining network pharmacology and experimental evaluation

open access: yesPharmaceutical Biology, 2022
Context The mechanism of tetrandrine (TET) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) progression and sorafenib (Sora) chemosensitivity deserves investigation. Objective Using network pharmacology approaches to elucidate the mechanisms of TET in HCC.

Extracellular matrix scaffold and hydrogel derived from decellularized and delipidized human pancreas

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
Extracellular matrix (ECM) plays an important developmental role by regulating cell behaviour through structural and biochemical stimulation. Tissue-specific ECM, attained through decellularization, has been proposed in several strategies for tissue and ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

The feasibility and potential benefits of administering adjuvant chemotherapy in resected pancreatic cancer patients unable to promptly remove intraperitoneal drainage post-surgery: a retrospective cohort study

open access: yesBMC Cancer
Objective Pancreatectomy remains associated with a high incidence of complications. In certain cases, patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) face challenges in removing intraperitoneal drainage after surgery, leading to potential delays in
