Aggressiveness and identification of Pantoea ananatis isolates
ABSTRACT Maize white spot, caused by the bacterium Pantoea ananatis (P. ananatis), occurs in all regions of Brazil, and the use of resistant maize genotypes is recommended for its control. However, to obtain resistant genotypes, the isolates must have their pathogenicity evaluated and the bacterium must be correctly identified.

An Outbreak of Onion Center Rot Caused by Pantoea ananatis in Korea
Symptoms typical of center rot of onion (Allium cepa L.) were observed in farmers' fields in spring of 2009 and 2010 in Hamyang, South Korea, at an incidence of 30 to 50% (five affected fields representing approximately 6 ha). The symptoms were identical to those reported from infected onions in Georgia in 1997 (1).

ABSTRACT Foliar fungicides are widely used in maize production in southern Brazil, yet their economic justification under low disease pressure remains uncertain. We synthesised yield and economic responses to a fungicide programme using a random‐effects meta‐analytic approach based on 19 multi‐environment trials conducted across the first and second ...

Incubation of Aminobacter aminovorans, Paenibacillus polymyxa, and Arthrobacter MPI764 with the microbial 2-benzoxazolinone (BOA)-degradation-product 2-acetamido-phenol, produced from 2-aminophenol, led to the recently identified N-(2-hydroxy-5 ...

Pro‐Vitamin A Biofortified Cavendish Banana: Trait Stability in the Field
ABSTRACT Vitamin A deficiency (VAD), a major global health concern, has driven efforts to develop staple crops with enhanced pro‐vitamin A (pVA) content. Delivering meaningful nutritional benefits, however, requires technologies that maintain elevated carotenoid levels under field conditions. Previous proof‐of‐concept work demonstrated that pVA content

Principles for Rigorous Design and Application of Synthetic Microbial Communities
SynComs are artificially designed to enable inter‐species metabolic interactions, metabolic division of labor, and ecological interactions that can elicit phenotypes like colonization stability and environmental adaptation. This systematic review explores the processes used to construct SynComs, the assessment of the mechanisms of metabolic interaction

Draft Genome Sequence of the Antibiotic-Producing Epiphytic Isolate Pantoea ananatis BRT175 [PDF]
ABSTRACT Pantoea is a member of the Enterobacteriaceae , whose members have been shown to produce novel antibiotics. Here, we report the 4.8-Mb genome sequence of Pantoea ananatis strain BRT175, an epiphytic isolate from strawberries that produces an antibiotic that is ...
