Variation in seed‐borne microbial communities of Metrosideros excelsa Sol. ex Gaertn. with consequences for germination success

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Botany, Volume 63, Issue 5, Page 1981-2004, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Seed endophytic bacteria and fungi are co‐dispersed with seeds and are likely founders of the initial endophytic microbiome in developing seedlings. The effects of the seed microbiome on seedling survival and growth are of particular interest for their roles in protection against pathogens and plant resistance to environmental stress.

Epiphytic Survival of Pantoea ananatis on Richardia scabra L. in Georgia [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Disease, 2017
Pantoea ananatis, the causal organism of center rot of onion (Allium cepa L.), can survive on different weeds but, in a previous survey, it was most commonly found on Florida pusley (Richardia scabra L.). The epiphytic survival of P. ananatis on R. scabra under different temperature and moisture regimes was investigated.

Development of two loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) genomics-informed diagnostic protocols for rapid detection of Pantoea species on rice

open access: yesMethodsX, 2021
At least three species of Pantoea are responsible for bacterial blight disease and grain discoloration of rice in Sub-Saharan Africa. Thus, measures need to be taken to limit the pathogens' dispersion and robust diagnostic tools are required for rapid ...
