Structure/function analysis of PARP-1 in oxidative and nitrosative stress-induced monomeric ADPR formation. [PDF]
Poly adenosine diphosphate-ribose polymerase-1 (PARP-1) is a multifunctional enzyme that is involved in two major cellular responses to oxidative and nitrosative (O/N) stress: detection and response to DNA damage via formation of protein-bound poly ...

Polyadenosine diphosphate (ADP) ribose polymerase (PARP) lends a panoramic view to the inner mystery of protection of integrity of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) in a cell genome. They are a balancing part of an even more dynamic equilibrium of normalcy against daily assaults.

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

ABSTRACT As global populations age, cancer is increasingly becoming a leading cause of morbidity and mortality among older adults, particularly in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs). Despite accounting for the majority of new cancer cases and deaths, older individuals remain underrepresented in cancer research, clinical guidelines, and health ...

Evidence for Decreased Nucleolar PARP-1 as an Early Marker of Cognitive Impairment
Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase-1 (PARP-1) is a nuclear protein that regulates gene expression through poly(ADP)-ribosylation, resulting in the loosening of chromatin structure.

Poly(ADP-ribose) Polymerase-1 in the Nervous System
Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase-1 (PARP-1) is a nuclear enzyme, activated by DNA strand breaks to participate in DNA repair. Overactivation of PARP by cellular insults depletes its substrate NAD+ and then ATP, leading to a major energy deficit and cell death.

The Underlying Event in Hard Scattering Processes [PDF]
We study the behavior of the "underlying event" in hard scattering proton-antiproton collisions at 1.8 TeV and compare with the QCD Monte-Carlo models.

BH3 mimetic ABT-737 sensitizes colorectal cancer cells to ixazomib through MCL-1 downregulation and autophagy inhibition. [PDF]
The proteasome inhibitor MLN9708 is an orally administered drug that is hydrolyzed into its active form, MLN2238 (ixazomib). Compared with Bortezomib, MLN2238 has a shorter proteasome dissociation half-life and a lower incidence and severity of ...
