Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.

Rheological and pasting properties of maize, wheat and rice starch as affected by apple polyphenols

open access: yesInternational Journal of Food Properties, 2019
The widely-studied interaction between starch and phenolic compounds remains poorly understood. This study prepared three different starch–apple polyphenol (AP) complexes, and studied their rheological, pasting, and structural properties.

Impact of moisture heat treatment on the physicochemical properties of potato and wheat starches

open access: yesFrontiers in Sustainable Food Systems
The effect of moisture heat treatment (MHT) on potato (PS) and wheat (WS) starches was observed in this study. The treatment lasted 2-8 hours at 110 °C at 15%, 20%, and 25% moisture content (MC). The treated samples were tested for water holding capacity,

Influence of Si Content and Milling Duration on the Microstructure and Mechanical–Tribological Properties of AlCoCrFeNiSi High‐Entropy Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Si‐doped AlCoCrFeNi high‐entropy alloys are synthesized by mechanical alloying to reveal the effect of Si content and milling time on phase evolution, microstructural refinement, and tribological behavior. A transition from FCC to BCC structure, significant grain refinement, and enhanced hardness and wear resistance are achieved, with the 4 at% Si ...

Functional and Antioxidative Characteristics of Soft Wheat and Tiger Nut (Cyperus esculentus) Flours Binary Blends

open access: yesFoods
Tiger nut (Cyperus esculentus) or chufa is little known plant of high nutritious content. Popularized by a plant-based drink called “horchata de chufa,” it still offers a lot to research, being abundant in fat, starch, fiber and minerals and vitamins. To

Microstructure, Thermal Transport, and Dry‐Sliding Tribology of Powder‐Metallurgy Al7075 Composites Reinforced With Sol–Gel‐Derived ZnO–rGO Hybrid Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Sol–gel‐derived ZnO–rGO hybrid nanoparticles enable Al7075 powder‐metallurgy composites to achieve concurrent gains in hardness and thermal conductivity while markedly lowering friction and wear. The hybrid architecture couples ZnO‐based load support with rGO‐assisted lamellar sliding and heat spreading, revealing a promising route toward lightweight ...
