Near‐Field Electrospinning Micro‐Printhead Achieves Precise Control of Nanofiber Deposition

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A micro‐printhead for near‐field electrospinning enables reproducible deposition of polymer nanofibers with diameters below 50 nm. Systematic parameter studies uncover the mechanisms linking operating conditions to fiber morphology, paving the way for precise and low‐cost nanoscale 3D manufacturing. As a high‐resolution, cost‐effective, and rapid ...

Consensus Path-following Control of Multiple Underactuated Unmanned Underwater Vehicles

open access: yes, 2018
This work mainly studies the problem of how to steer a group of underactuated unmanned underwater vehicles UUVs to specified paths coordinately. The algorithm proposed consists of a single path-following strategy and a path parameter consensus tracking ...

A Knowledge‐Based Approach for Understanding and Managing Additive Manufacturing Data

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing processes generate a large amount of data. Effectively managing, understanding, and retrieving information from this data remains a major challenge. Therefore, we propose an ontology‐based approach to integrate heterogeneous data, enable semantic queries, and support decision‐making.

Iterative learning control for optimal path following problems

open access: yes, 2013
In optimal path following problems the motion along a given geometric path is optimized according to a desired objective while accounting for the system dynamics and system constraints.

Solid‐State Diffusion and Intermetallic Phase Formation in Roll‐Bonded Mg–Zn Composites With Kirigami‐Patterned Inlay

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

Model predictive path-following for constrained nonlinear systems [PDF]

open access: yes
We propose a model predictive control approach to path-following problems of constrained nonlinear systems. We directly consider input and state constraints.
