PAX9 Overexpression in Lung Adenocarcinoma and Promotes Cancer Progression
ICBBTPaired box 9 (PAX9) is a transcription factor of the PAX family functioning as both a transcriptional activator and a repressor. At this stage it has been demonstrated that the PAX9 gene is a key gene in embryonic development, but its function in a ...

[Identification of mutation in PAX9 gene in a Mongolian family with non-syndromic oligodontia].
Zhonghua kou qiang yi xue za zhi = Zhonghua kouqiang yixue zazhi = Chinese journal of stomatology, 2014To investigate the mutation in transcription factor paired box gene PAX9 in a mongolian family with non-syndromic oligodontia.Peripheral blood was collected from 17 core family members (9 unaffected, 8 affected) in this Mongolian family with non-syndromic oligodontia. Mutation in exons of PAX9 gene was identified by PCR amplification and DNA sequencing.

Tooth agenesis is one of the most common developmental anomalies in humans. Genetic and environmental factors may be of etiological importance in this condition. Among genes involved in tooth morphogenesis, mutations in PAX9, MSX1, AXIN2, WNT10a, and EDA genes have been associated with tooth agenesis.
