A Rapid and Efficient Method for Purifying High Quality Total RNA from Peaches (Prunus persica) for Functional Genomics Analyses

open access: yesBiological Research, 2005
Prunus persica has been proposed as a genomic model for deciduous trees and the Rosaceae family. Optimized protocols for RNA isolation are necessary to further advance studies in this model species such that functional genomics analyses may be performed.

Extreme site fidelity in long‐distance migratory shorebirds in Australia and potential implications for conservation

open access: yesConservation Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Site fidelity is the tendency for animals to repeatedly return to the same locations, either within or between years. Site fidelity enables animals to utilize knowledge of previously visited locations, including assessments of seasonal variations in health and mortality risks (e.g., predation), resource availability, and social benefits such ...

Toward a minimal amino acid alphabet for protein design

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Proteins are built from 20 canonical amino acids; however, it is interesting to investigate whether they can also be formed from reduced amino acid alphabets. Using protein design, we designed proteins based on all alphabets comprising 2 to 10 ‘early’ amino acids (those likely to have been present before the origin of life).

Growth and Overfishing Indicators Applied to the Protandrous Hermaphrodite Fat Snook (Centropomus parallelus) in the South Atlantic

open access: yesFisheries Management and Ecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The fat snook Centropomus parallelus is a protandrous hermaphrodite teleost of artisanal and recreational value in the South Atlantic, vulnerable to fishing pressure and size‐selective gears. We evaluated exploitation status using size and age based overfishing indicators from recreational fishing championships and artisanal landings along the

Caregiver sensitivity moderates effects of gestational inflammation on child ADHD symptoms

open access: yesJournal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, EarlyView.

Diet‐Induced Chromogenic Challenge Model for Additively Manufactured Tooth‐Colored Dental Resin Materials

open access: yesJournal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives This study aimed to evaluate the color stability of glaze‐coated 3D‐printed resin materials stored in different nutritionally beneficial smoothies that are commonly consumed. Methods Disc‐shaped (27 × 1 mm) specimens were fabricated from tooth‐colored 3D‐printed dental resins with different indications: Arma Resin (Group A ...
