This study deals with pearl oyster fishery in Bandar-e-Moqam and Bandar-e-Nakhiloo in Iran from July to August 1993. The total landings of pearl oyster were 185 tonnes (2.3 million units) with a total marked value of approximately 64 million Rls.

The fresh meat was divided into 6 parts adductor muscle, internal organs, mantle, gill, pedestal and mucilage, and the glycogen contents were determined according to the season.
