Pb induces plant cell wall modifications - in particular - the increase of pectins able to bind metal ions level

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2013
Low - methylesterified pectin fraction, able to bind metal ions, is the cell wall compound which participates in land and water plant cell response to toxic metals. Protonemata of Funaria hygrometrica (Hedw.), root tips of Populus tremula x P.tremuloides

Effect of particle size on the surface properties and morphology of ground flax [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Flax fibers were ground with a ball-mill and four fractions with different size ranges were collected by sieving. These were tested for water sorption, degree of polymerization (DP), copper number, hydroxyl number and analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD),

Immunomodulatory Hydrogel Coating with SeNPs and Lithium Silicate Synergistically Promotes Osseointegration and Prevents Infection on Titanium Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces a multifunctional hydrogel coating (Lap‐CMCSMA/GelMA@SeNPs) that scavenges ROS, modulates immune responses, and shows strong antibacterial activity. It effectively restores the peri‐implant microenvironment. The coating exhibits excellent biocompatibility and promotes osteogenic differentiation.

Unraveling cell wall polysaccharides during blueberry ripening: insights into the roles of rhamnogalacturonan-I and arabinogalactan proteins in fruit firmness

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
Blueberries (Vaccinium corymbosum) undergo significant texture changes during development and ripening, notably a consistent decrease in firmness, which affects fruit quality, consumer preference, transportability, and shelf life. This study examined the

Photocatalytically Activated Cu‐N1S3 Single‐Atom Nanozyme: Enhancing Enzyme Activities and Antibacterial Synergy for Highly Efficient Fruit Preservation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents S‐coordinated Cu single‐atom nanozymes (Cu/CNS) fabricated via mild photocatalytic self‐assembly strategy. The nanozyme exhibits exceptional multi‐enzyme activity and near‐perfect antimicrobial efficacy. Incorporated into chitosan‐gelatin film, it enables pH‐responsive, broad‐spectrum fruit preservation, more than doubling the shelf‐

GbWAKL20 Phosphorylates GbNFYB8 to Modulate Verticillium Wilt Resistance in Cotton

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Wall‐associated receptor‐like kinases (WAKLs) play pivotal roles in extracellular–intracellular signal transduction. Upon sensing Verticillium dahliae infestation at the plasma membrane, GbWAKL20 accumulates and transmits signals to the nucleus via endoplasmic reticulum‐mediated Golgi vesicle transport.
