Antithrombotic and antiplatelet activities of pelargonidin in vivo and in vitro
Archives of Pharmacal Research, 2016Pelargonidin is a well-known red pigment found in plants, and has been reported as having important biological activities that are potentially beneficial for human health. However, the possible roles of pelargonidin as an anticoagulant and the underlying mechanism have not yet been elucidated.

Acylated pelargonidin glycosides from a red potato
Phytochemistry, 1998Abstract Two acylated pelargonidin glycosides were isolated from red tubers of a anthocyanin-rich tetraploid potato which was successfully selected from hybrid seedlings between cultivars of Solanum tuberosum and S. andigena . The major pigment was identified as pelargonidin 3-O-[(4″-O-(trans-p- coumaroyl )-α- l -6″-rhamnopyranosyl -β- d -

Pelargonidin 3-acetylglucoside inVerbena flowers
Phytochemistry, 1991Abstract In the magenta flowers ofVerbena cv ‘Sangria’ a novel acylated anthocyanin was found and determined to be pelargonidin 3-O-(6-O-(acetyl)-β- d -glucopyranoside) by chromatographic and spectral methods. Two known acylated anthocyanins were also isolated from this plant as major pigments, and identified as cyanidin and pelargonidin 3-(6 ...

Acylated pelargonidin glycosides in red-purple flowers of Ipomoea purpurea
Phytochemistry, 1996Four acylated pelargonidin glycosides were isolated from the red-purple flowers of Ipomoea purpurea. The acylated anthocyanins were all based on pelargonidin 3-sophoroside-5-glucoside, acylated with caffeic acid and/or glucosylcaffeic acids. Three novel anthocyanins were elucidated to be pelargonidin 3-O-[2-O-(6-O-(trans-3-O-(beta-D-glucopyranosyl ...

An acylated pelargonidin diglycoside from Pulsatilla cernua
Phytochemistry, 1998Abstract A new acylated pelargonidin glycoside was isolated from the sepals of Pulsatilla cernua . The structure was established as pelargonidin 3-[2″-(2‴-trans- caffeoyl -β- d -glucopyranosyl )-β- d -galactopyranoside ] by spectroscopic methods.

Isolation and identification of pelargonidin 3-glucoside in mangosteen pericarp
Food Chemistry, 2012Abstract In the present study, we have identified pelargonidin 3-glucoside, along with two known anthocyanin; cyanidin 3-sophoroside and cyanidin 3-glucoside, from acidified, methanolic extract of mangosteen pericarp. The compounds were separated by preparative HPLC after purification by partition against ethyl acetate and Amberlite XAD-7.

Antioxidant activity of delphinidin and pelargonidin: Theory and practice
Journal of Food Biochemistry, 2022The quantum chemical density functional theory and in vitro chemical-based antioxidant assays were used to research the reaction mechanism of delphinidin/pelargonidin with free radicals including superoxide anion radicals (O2 - ∙) and hydroperoxide radicals (OOH∙). The geometric configuration, bond dissociation energy, PCM (polarizable continuum model)

Glycosylation from an anthocyanidin 3-O-glucosyltransferase Ps3GT (PsUGT78A27) facilitates the accumulation of pelargonidin 3-O-glucoside, which defines the vivid red flower color and occurs only in specific peony tree cultivars. Although tree peony cultivars of Chinese and Japanese both originated from China, vivid red color is only found in flowers ...

A Density Functional Theory Study on Pelargonidin
The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2007A complete conformational analysis on the isolated and polarizable continuum model (PCM) modeled aqueous solution cation, quinonoidal, and anion forms of pelargonidin, comprising the diverse tautomers of the latter forms, was carried out at the B3LYP/6-31++G(d,p) level.
