Abstract Backgrounds Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a common andrological disorder that tends to afflict diabetic patients, among others. Pharmacological therapy of diabetes mellitus‐induced ED (DMED) is ineffective, as it is linked with smooth muscle cell loss in the corpus cavernosum.
