Peptidomimetics and Angiogenesis

Mini-Reviews in Medicinal Chemistry, 2002
Angiogenesis is the sprouting of new blood capillaries from surrounding preexisting blood vessels. This process is fundamental for embryonic development, wound healing and inflammation. In healthy adults angiogenesis is of minor importance. However, aberrant angiogenesis is essentially involved in disorders as diabetic retinopathy, rheumatoid arthritis

Biological evaluation and molecular modeling of peptidomimetic compounds as inhibitors for O-GlcNAc transferase (OGT).

European Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2020
The vital enzyme O-linked β-N-acetylglucosamine transferase (OGT) catalyzes the O-GlcNAcylation of intracellular proteins coupling the metabolic status to cellular signaling and transcription pathways. Aberrant levels of O-GlcNAc and OGT have been linked

Peptidomimetic design

Current Opinion in Chemical Biology, 1998
Major discoveries have been made of new type-I and type-III peptidomimetic inhibitors of peptide-derived systems. Innovative reversible inhibitors of cysteine proteases and renin, and additional examples of peptidomimetic inhibitors of interleukin-1 beta-converting enzyme, neutral endopeptidase, herpes simplex virus protease, thrombin, HIV protease ...

Development of a GC-376 Based Peptidomimetic PROTAC as a Degrader of 3-Chymotrypsin-like Protease of SARS-CoV-2.

ACS Medicinal Chemistry Letters
We have applied a proteolysis targeting chimera (PROTAC) technology to obtain a peptidomimetic molecule able to trigger the degradation of SARS-CoV-2 3-chymotrypsin-like protease (3CLPro).

Discovery of novel peptidomimetic boronate ClpP inhibitors with noncanonical enzyme mechanism as potent virulence blockers in vitro and in vivo.

Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2020
Caseinolytic protease P (ClpP) is considered as a promising target for the treatment of Staphylococcus aureus infections. In an unbiased screen of 2632 molecules, a peptidomimetic boronate, MLN9708, was found to be a potent suppressor of SaClpP function.

Synthesis, assessment and corrosion protection investigations of some novel peptidomimetic cationic surfactants: Empirical and theoretical insights

, 2020
Three novel peptidomimetic cationic surfactants were synthesized in good yields. The chemical configurations of these surfactants were clarified using 1H, 13C NMR and FT-IR spectroscopy.

Aminimides as Peptidomimetics

2003
Highly selective and specific protein-protein and peptide-protein interactions are elicited by a large number of natural specific biological responses. The mimicry of these natural interactions has been an important and useful strategy for the development of metabolically stable drugs capable of being administered orally (1-4).

Formylated polyamines as peptidomimetics

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2012
A new construct for imitating a natural peptide ligand using a modified retro-inverso sequence is described. It is demonstrated through the synthesis of a peptidomimetic derived from the endogenous sequence of leucine enkephalin. The product was active at 400 nM and selective for μ-opioid receptors.
