Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

A theoretical method to analyze the effect of stress distribution on compressive strength of periodic lattices

open access: yesMaterials & Design
The lattice structures or lattice metamaterials have been widely used in aerospace and medical fields, and the mechanical properties were mostly evaluated based on simulated stress distribution.

Comportamento dinâmico-mecânico e relaxações em polímeros e blendas poliméricas Dynamic mechanical behavior and relaxations in polymers and polymeric blends

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2005
Dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) is widely used in materials characterization. In this work, we briefly introduce the main concepts related to this technique such as, linear and non-linear viscoelasticity, relaxation time, response of material when it ...

Diffraction and near-zero transmission of flexural phonons at graphene grain boundaries [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Graphene grain boundaries are known to affect phonon transport and thermal conductivity, suggesting that they may be used to engineer the phononic properties of graphene.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Thermoelastic Properties and Elastocaloric Effect in Rapidly Quenched Ribbons of Ti2NiCu Alloy in the Amorphous and Crystalline State

open access: yesCrystals, 2021
The thermoelastic properties and the elastocaloric effect (ECE) were studied in rapidly quenched ribbons of the Ti2NiCu alloy samples in amorphous and crystalline states under periodic mechanical tension with a frequency of up to 50 Hz.
