Src Substrate Surprise [PDF]

open access: yesCancer Cell, 2009
In this issue of Cancer Cell, Lowy and colleagues show that the SH2 domain of tensin-3 is regulated by phosphorylation by Src and that this phosphorylation promotes the oncogenic function of tensin-3. Phosphorylation of the SH2 domain represents a novel mechanism for the regulation of SH2 ligand binding.

SRC and STAT Pathways [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Thoracic Oncology, 2006
Members of the Src family of protein tyrosine kinases (SRC) can link signaling initiated by growth factor, integrin, and cytokine receptors on the surface of cells to their downstream effector signaling cascades (Figure 1).1 Each protein consists of an amino-terminal domain that can be myristoylated, an SH2 and SH3 domain, a tyrosine kinase domain, and

The potential of Src inhibitors

open access: yesAging, 2015
The src family of kinases (SFKs), including c-Src, Fyn, Yes, Lck, Lyn, Hck, Fgr and Blk, have been widely implicated in the pathogenesis of cancer [1]. Being pleiotropic, SFKs are involved in a number of different cellular activities such as regulation of cell growth, survival, adhesion, cytoskeletal remodeling and motility.
