The effect of ribonuclease on phage-host interaction [PDF]
SUMMARY: Pancreatic ribonuclease inhibits the multiplication of a Rhizobium bacteriophage in liquid bacterial cultures by preventing permanent combination between phage and host.

PlantGFM: A Genomic Foundation Model for Discovery and Creation of Plant Genes
A plant genomic foundation model pre‐trained on 12 species enables both accurate gene prediction and de novo gene design. Through AI‐human knowledge screening, seven designed sequences showed transcriptional activity in plants, with two expressing stable proteins—demonstrating the first DNA‐RNA‐protein expression of LLM‐generated genes in plants and ...

AI‐Designed Cyclic Peptides Enable Controllable Modulation of the CD28 Immune Checkpoint
AI‐designed cyclic peptides enable controllable modulation of the CD28 immune checkpoint through reversible disruption of CD28‐CD80/CD86 interactions. The lead peptide, CIP‐3, suppresses T‐cell activation without intrinsic agonist activity, demonstrates dose‐dependent efficacy in a murine colitis model, and attenuates inflammatory cytokine production ...

Treatment‐resistant wounds caused by polymicrobial biofilms are refractory to conventional therapies due to the dense extracellular matrices. We developed μBLAST, a microblasting wound dressing that combines MnO2‐doped biosilica and a H2O2‐releasing mesh to generate localized oxygen microbubbles that mechanically disrupt biofilms.

Phage-induced diversification improves host evolvability. [PDF]
Bacteriophage (viruses that infect bacteria) are of key importance in ecological processes at scales from biofilms to biogeochemical cycles. Close interaction can lead to antagonistic coevolution of phage and their hosts.
