A novel function of NLRP3 independent of inflammasome as a key transcription factor of IL-33 in epithelial cells of atopic dermatitis

open access: yesCell Death and Disease, 2021
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a common chronic pruritic inflammatory skin disorder characterized by recurrent eczematous lesions. Interleukin (IL)−33, a cytokine of the IL-1 family, was found to play an important role in the pathogenesis of AD.

A novel biomimetic liposome drug delivery system mediated by macrophage targeting for precision treatment of encephalitis

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
An advanced macrophage‐mediated biomimetic liposome (AC‐LP@RAW) that can penetrate the BBB and precisely target inflammatory sites in the deep brain was established in this study based on the unique immune homing property of macrophages, and showed a significantly improved delivery of curcumin to the brain.

Controllable engineered probiotic microspheres for treating ulcerative colitis: A cascade enzyme‐catalyzed strategy to restore intestinal redox homeostasis

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
A dual strategy integrating genetic engineering and physical encapsulation was proposed to enhance the cell viability and antioxidant properties of probiotics. The cascade antioxidant enzymes released from probiotic microspheres restore intestinal redox homeostasis by eliminating intestinal reactive oxygen species for ulcerative colitis treatment ...

Astragaloside IV accelerates hematopoietic reconstruction by improving the AMPK/PGC1α-mediated mitochondrial function in hematopoietic stem cells

open access: yesChinese Medicine
Background Radiotherapy can damage hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) in bone marrow, leading to impaired hematopoietic function. Current treatments mainly target differentiated hematopoietic progenitor cells, which may accelerate their depletion ...

Membrane‐Permeable Nucleoside T‐1106 Diphosphate and Triphosphate Analogues as Antiviral Pronucleotides

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Favipiravir (T‐705) and the non‐fluorinated counterpart (T‐1106) are antiviral agents that inhibit the RNA‐dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) of various RNA viruses. The antiviral efficacy of nucleoside analogues is strongly dependent on their intracellular activation by cellular kinases to produce their corresponding triphosphate metabolites (T‐705‐RTP ...
