Primordial Black Holes and Gravitational Waves in the U(1) B−L extended inert doublet model: a first-order phase transition perspective

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We conduct an analysis of a U(1) B−L extended inert doublet model and obtained the parameter space allowing strong first order phase transitions. We show that a large part of the parameter space can cause double first-order phase transitions.

Generic features of vacuum phase transitions in the early universe

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1990
Abstract A simple Higgs model is utilized to show the occurrence of a four-phase pattern of vacuum symmetry. As temperature changes, an interplay of spontaneous symmetry breaking and spontaneous symmetry restoration ensues, and resonant field interchange occurs.

Vacuum shell in the Schwarzschild-de Sitter world

open access: yes, 2007
We construct the classification scheme for all possible evolution scenarios and find the corresponding global geometries for dynamics of a thin spherical vacuum shell in the Schwarzschild-de Sitter metric. This configuration is suitable for the modelling

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Axion interactions with domain and bubble walls

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We show that interactions between axion-like particles (ALPs) and co-dimension one defects, such as phase-transition bubble walls and solitonic domain walls, can lead to important changes in the evolution of both walls and ALPs. The leading effect arises

Stochastic Gravitational Radiation from Phase Transitions

open access: yes, 2001
A stochastic background of gravitational radiation from cosmological processes in the very early Universe is potentially detectable. We review the gravitational radiation which may arise from cosmological phase transitions, covering both bubble ...

Developing evidence‐based, cost‐effective P4 cancer medicine for driving innovation in prevention, therapeutics, patient care and reducing healthcare inequalities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The cancer problem is increasing globally with projections up to the year 2050 showing unfavourable outcomes in terms of incidence and cancer‐related deaths. The main challenges are prevention, improved therapeutics resulting in increased cure rates and enhanced health‐related quality of life.

Investigating the Electroweak phase transition with a real scalar singlet at a muon collider

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
A strong first-order electroweak phase transition (SFOEWPT) is essential for explaining baryogenesis, and for potentially generating observable gravitational waves.

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.
