Biological aging accelerates hepatic fibrosis: Insights from the NHANES 2017–2020 and genome-wide association study analysis

open access: yesAnnals of Hepatology
Introduction and Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the association between biological aging and liver fibrosis in patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD).

Targeting transcription factors associated with hemoglobinopathies: Lessons from successful interventions and implications for cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the transcription factors, repressive chromatin‐modifying complexes, and epigenetic mechanisms that control fetal hemoglobin repression. Notably, many regulators of γ‐globin silencing also function in transcriptional and epigenetic networks that drive cancer, highlighting opportunities to translate advances in hemoglobinopathy ...

GENETIC AND PHENOTYPIC CORRELATIONS FOR SOME SEXUAL MATURITY TRAITS IN NILI RAVI BUFFALO HEIFERS [PDF]

open access: yesPakistan Veterinary Journal, 2006
Data on 202 records of Nili-Ravi buffalo heifers kept at the Livestock Experiment Station Bahadarnagar, Okara, Pakistan for the period 1994 to 2003, were analyzed to study the genetic and phenotypic correlations among four traits including age at ...

CEACAM1 participation in breast cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In invasive breast cancer (BC), CEACAM1 shifts from an apical to a uniform membranous/cytoplasmic pattern, or is lost, as tumors dedifferentiate, inversely tracking the Ki‐67 proliferative index. In MCF‐7 cells, only CEACAM1‐4L suppresses proliferation, repressing cell cycle and growth factor genes.

Biological Aging and Chemotoxicity in Patients with Colorectal Cancer: A Secondary Data Analysis Using EHR Data

open access: yesCurrent Oncology
Background: Biological aging influences cancer outcomes, but its changes during chemotherapy and impact on chemotoxicity in colorectal cancer (CRC) remain underinvestigated.

Pharmacological chromatin remodeling enhances response to estrogen therapy in ER+ breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Estrogen therapy elicits clinical benefit in ~ 30% of patients with endocrine‐resistant estrogen receptor (ER)‐positive breast cancer. Based on findings that ER transcriptional activation underlies response to estrogen therapy, we tested the effects of epigenetic dysregulation via pharmacological inhibition of histone deacetylases (HDACi).

Association of new Life’s Essential 8 with biological aging among the national health and nutrition examination surveys

open access: yesScientific Reports
The Life’s Essential 8 (LE8) score was updated by the American Heart Association, which constituted cardiovascular health (CVH) and was significantly associated with overall and cardiovascular disease-specific mortality.

PANoptosis in the pathogenesis of myelodysplastic syndromes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PANoptosis, a combination of three types of programmed cell death, is mediated by a large protein complex called a PANoptosome. In healthy bone marrow hematopoietic cells, PANoptosis is restricted by inhibitory signaling. In MDS, bone marrow cells become sensitive to the PANoptotic stimuli due to the aberrant inactivation of inhibitory signaling or ...

Association between triglyceride glucose index and biological aging in U.S. adults: National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey

open access: yesCardiovascular Diabetology
Background Insulin resistance (IR) has been reported to be associated with aging; however, few studies have investigated the relationship between IR and biological age (BA). The Triglyceride–glucose (TyG) index is a recognized marker of IR.

Spatial biology in cancer epigenetics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Spatial epigenomics combines molecular profiling with tissue architecture to reveal how gene regulation is organized within intact tissues. In cancer, these technologies uncover the mechanisms driving tumor heterogeneity and microenvironmental interactions, opening new opportunities for biomarker discovery and precision medicine.
