Decreased cord-blood phospholipids in young age at onset type 1 diabetes. [PDF]
Children developing type 1 diabetes may have risk markers already in their umbilical cord blood. It is hypothesized that the risk for type 1 diabetes at an early age may be increased by a pathogenic pregnancy and be reflected in altered cord-blood ...

Partitioning of 1-alkanols in composite raft-like lipid membrane [PDF]
Though 1-alkanols are well known to have anesthetic properties, the mode of operation remains enigmatic. We perform extensive atomistic molecular dynamics simulation to study the partitioning of 1- alkanols of different chain-lengths in raft-like model membrane made up of mixture of unsaturated dioleoyl-phosphatidylcholine (DOPC) and saturated ...

Momentum-Resolved Sum-Frequency Vibrational Spectroscopy of Bonded Interface Layer at Charged Water Interfaces [PDF]
Interface-specific hydrogen- (H-)bonding network of water next to a substrate (including air) directly controls the energy transfer and chemical reaction pathway at many charged aqueous interfaces. Yet, experimental characterization of such bonded water layer structure is still a challenge due to the presence of the ion diffuse layer.

Targeting miRNA‐1a and miRNA‐15b: A Novel Combinatorial Strategy to Drive Adult Cardiac Regeneration
The article explores a novel therapeutic strategy for cardiac regeneration by targeting miRNA‐1a and miRNA‐15b. Combinatorial inhibition of miR‐1a and miR‐15b enhances cardiomyocyte proliferation, improves heart function, and reduces fibrosis in myocardial infarction models.

A Supramolecular Material for Controlling Kiwifruit Bacterial Canker
The matrine‐5‐methylsalicylic acid salt (MOS) is reported for its excellent antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae (Psa), with advanced cell membrane penetration ability and strong affinities for potential targets. Furthermore, a nanosupramolecular delivery system MOS@hydroxypropyl‐beta‐cyclodextrin (HPCD) with improved ...

Lateral-Pressure Profiles in Cholesterol-DPPC Bilayers [PDF]
By means of atomistic molecular dynamics simulations, we study cholesterol-DPPC (dipalmitoyl phosphatidylcholine) bilayers of different composition, from pure DPPC bilayers to a 1:1 mixture of DPPC and cholesterol. The lateral-pressure profiles through the bilayers are computed and separated into contributions from the different components.

A machine learning assessment of the two states model for lipid bilayer phase transitions [PDF]
We have adapted a set of classification algorithms, also known as Machine Learning, to the identification of fluid and gel domains close to the main transition of dipalmitoyl-phosphatidylcholine (DPPC) bilayers. Using atomistic molecular dynamics conformations in the low and high temperature phases as learning sets, the algorithm was trained to ...

The study identified sortilin as a promising LTR, enabling targeted degradation of oncogenic proteins through an mRNA‐encoded MedTAC strategy. In a mouse model, MedTACPTK7 reduced PTK7 by up to 80%, extended survival, and showed excellent pharmacokinetics without toxicity, providing a scalable platform for targeted therapies.

Collision-induced dissociation of doubly-charged barium-cationized lipids generated from liquid samples by atmospheric pressure matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization provides structurally diagnostic product ions [PDF]
Obtaining structural information for lipids such as phosphatidylcholines, in particular the location of double bonds in their fatty acid constituents, is an ongoing challenge for mass spectrometry (MS) analysis.
