The following phosphatidylethanolamines were studied by differential scanning calorimetry: 1,2-dipalmitoleoyl-, 1,2-dioleoyl-, 1,2-dilauroyl-, 1,2-dielaidyl-, 1,2-dimyristoyl- and 1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoryl-ethanolamine. The saturated and trans-unsaturated species underwent thermotropic phase transitions at temperatures about 20-30 degrees

Synthesis of a photocleavable bola-phosphatidylcholine
Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry, 2023Phosphatidylinositol transfer proteins (PITPs) are ubiquitous in eukaryotes and are involved in the regulation of phospholipid metabolism, membrane trafficking, and signal transduction. Sec14 is a yeast PITP that has been shown to transfer phosphatidylinositol (PI) or phosphatidylcholine (PC) from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi.

Interacti on of buprenorphine with phosphatidylcholine
Thermochimica Acta, 1989The interaction between phosphatidylcholine and buprenorphine have been studied by means of differential scanning calorimetry of liposome, compression isotherms and penetration kinetics of monolayers. The results show that the interactions are highly dependent on the ionized state of the buprenorphine molecules, being higher in buffered solutions.

Autoxidation of phosphatidylcholine liposomes
Lipids, 1982AbstractAutoxidation of pure soybean phosphatidylcholine liposomes at 40 C was found to proceed without an observed induction period, but otherwise, the rates of disappearance of the linoleic acid (70% of total) and linolenic acid (6% of total) followed typical autocatalytic kinetics.

Phosphatidylcholine and cell death
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Molecular and Cell Biology of Lipids, 2002Phosphatidylcholine (PC) constitutes a major portion of cellular phospholipids and displays unique molecular species in different cell types and tissues. Inhibition of the CDP-choline pathway in most mammalian cells or overexpression of the hepatic phosphatidylethanolamine methylation pathway in hepatocytes leads to perturbation of PC homeostasis ...

Biosynthesis of phosphatidylcholine in bacteria
Progress in Lipid Research, 2003Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is the major membrane-forming phospholipid in eukaryotes and can be synthesized by either of two pathways, the methylation pathway or the CDP-choline pathway. Many prokaryotes lack PC, but it can be found in significant amounts in membranes of rather diverse bacteria and based on genomic data, we estimate that more than 10% of ...

Bovine liver phosphatidylcholine transfer protein (PC-TP) has been expressed in Escherichia coli and purified to homogeneity from the cytosol fraction at a yield of 0.45 mg PC-TP per 10 mg total cytosolic protein. In addition, active PC-TP was obtained from inclusion bodies.
