Simultaneous inhibition of pan-phosphatidylinositol-3-kinases and MEK as a potential therapeutic strategy in peripheral T-cell lymphomas

open access: yesHaematologica, 2013
Peripheral T-cell lymphomas are very aggressive hematologic malignancies for which there is no targeted therapy. New, rational approaches are necessary to improve the very poor outcome in these patients.

Citrullination of AKT2 Catalyzed by PAD1 Facilitates the Maintenance of Stemness Characteristics of Ovarian Cancer Stem‐Like Cells in Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PAD1 is upregulated within the CD133+ subset or cisplatin‐resistant ovarian cancer cells, which is positively associated with the upregulation of stemness‐related markers and maintenance of stemness in OCSLCs. Mechanistically, PAD1‐catalyzed AKT2 citrullination at R202 facilitates AKT2 phosphorylation, promoting CEBPβ expression and its binding to the ...

Chemical Synthesis of 6-Azido-6-Deoxy Derivatives of Phosphatidylinositol Containing Different Fatty Acid Chains

open access: yesMolecules
This paper describes the synthesis of two 6-azido-6-deoxy derivatives of phosphatidylinositol (PI), which contained different fatty acid chains. These syntheses, starting from methyl α-d-glucopyranoside, employed multiple regioselective transformations ...

Characterization of phosphatidylinositol, phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate, and phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate by electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry: A mechanistic study

open access: yesJournal of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry, 2000
Structural characterization of phosphatidylinositol (PI), phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate (PI-4P), and phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate (PI-4,5-P2) by collisionally activated dissociation (CAD) tandem mass spectrometry with electrospray ionization is described.

Glucose‐Responsive PAGR1‐Regulated Skeletal Muscle Gene Program Controls Systemic Glucose Homeostasis and Hepatic Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study reveals that PAXIP1‐associated glutamate‐rich protein 1 (PAGR1), a glucose‐responsive regulator in skeletal muscle, modulates systemic glucose homeostasis and hepatic metabolism. Muscle‐specific PAGR1 deletion enhances insulin signaling, promotes glucose transporter 4 (GLUT4) translocation, and protects against high‐fat‐diet‐induced insulin ...

Essential lipid autacoids rewire mitochondrial energy efficiency in metabolic dysfunction‐associated fatty liver disease

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Increased liver content of DHA‐derived small lipid autacoids (i.e resolvin D1 and maresin 1) associates with enhanced mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, fatty acid β‐oxidation and bioenergetic metabolic flux. These features provide hepatic protection from steatotic, pro‐inflammatory and fibrogenic insults.

GhFAD3-4 Promotes Fiber Cell Elongation and Cell Wall Thickness by Increasing PI and IP3 Accumulation in Cotton

open access: yesPlants
The omega-3 fatty acid desaturase enzyme gene FAD3 is responsible for converting linoleic acid to linolenic acid in plant fatty acid synthesis. Despite limited knowledge of its role in cotton growth, our study focused on GhFAD3-4, a gene within the FAD3 ...
