Macrophages and autophagy: partners in crime
Autophagy is a key regulator of macrophage function, influencing critical processes like polarization, cytokine secretion, and phagocytosis. Its impact on macrophage behavior varies across different tissues and disease contexts, where it can either promote protective responses or contribute to detrimental outcomes, depending on the physiological or ...

PI5P4K inhibitors: promising opportunities and challenges
Developing inhibitors is like climbing a steep, challenging mountain. PI5P4K inhibitors hold significant promise for the treatment of cancer, immune disorders, and neurological diseases. However, the path to success is fraught with hurdles, and researchers are therefore required to apply their expertise to overcome critical “checkpoints.” While some ...

Tomato spotted wilt virus modulated the abundance of gut proteins in larval thrips, most notably manifested as a predominant down‐regulation in first instar larvae. Gut‐expressed protein and cognate transcript abundance were moderately correlated across the tissue system; however, the virus effect varied widely at transcriptional and translational ...

PI3Kγ in Tumour Inflammation: Bridging Immune Response and Cancer Progression—A Mini‐Review
Myeloid cell PI3Kγ can be activated by G Protein‐Coupled Receptors or Receptor Tyrosine Kinases. Once activated, PI3Kγ promotes integrin activation as well as Akt and mTOR activation, thereby promoting transcription of immune‐suppressive and pro‐angiogenic factors, such as Arginase, IL‐10, TGFβ and VEGF‐A.

Canagliflozin regulated the cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP)‐protein kinase 1‐α signaling pathway through the natriuretic peptide B gene, thereby improving cell viability, apoptosis, and reactive oxygen species levels, and ultimately protecting cardiac function in type 2 diabetic patients with coronary artery disease.
