Evaluation of the effect of dietary supplementation with Allium mongolicum regel bulb powder on the volatile compound and lipid profiles of the longissimus thoracis in Angus calves based on GC–IMS and lipidomic analysis

open access: yesFood Chemistry: X
The effect of A. mongolicum Regel bulb powder (AMRP) supplementation on the flavour of beef from Angus calves has not been investigated thus far. We used GC–IMS and untargeted lipidomics techniques to examine the volatile compound and lipid metabolic ...

Lipid Droplet‐Localized Spindle Apparatus Coiled‐Coil Protein 1 Regulates Lipid Droplet Distribution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SPDL1‐L, a long isoform of SPDL1, is identified as a bona fide lipid droplet‐associated protein that acts as a dynein adaptor to drive perinuclear clustering of lipid droplets. By linking lipid droplets to the microtubule network, SPDL1‐L extends the function of SPDL1 beyond mitosis and contributes to lipid droplet organization and nuclear remodeling ...

Combinatorial targeting of G‐protein‐coupled bile acid receptor 1 and cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 1 reveals a mechanistic role for bile acids and leukotrienes in drug‐induced liver injury

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
CHIN117 is a dual cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 1 (CYSLTR1) antagonist and G‐protein‐coupled bile acid receptor 1 (GPBAR1) agonist. In the liver, GPBAR1 and CYSLTR1 are coexpressed by liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs), HSCs, circulating monocytes/macrophages, and liver resident macrophages (Kupffer cells).

The Mitochondrial Guardian α‐Amyrin Mitigates Alzheimer's Disease Pathology via Modulation of the DLK‐SARM1‐ULK1 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dietary habits play a key role in chronic diseases, and higher annual consumption of fruit and vegetable may lower risk of dementia. Artificial intelligence predicts the lipid‐like compound α‐Amyrin (αA) from plants with edible peels as a drug candidate against Alzheimer's disease.

Mboat7 down-regulation by hyper-insulinemia induces fat accumulation in hepatocytes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
BACKGROUND: Naturally occurring variation in Membrane-bound O-acyltransferase domain-containing 7 (MBOAT7), encoding for an enzyme involved in phosphatidylinositol acyl-chain remodelling, has been associated with fatty liver and hepatic disorders.

Sugar nucleotide quantification by liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry reveals a distinct profile in Plasmodium falciparum sexual stage parasites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The obligate intracellular lifestyle of Plasmodium falciparum and the difficulties to obtain sufficient amounts of biological material has hampered the study of specific metabolic pathways in the malaria

Endocytic Control of Cell‐Autonomous and Non‐Cell‐Autonomous Functions of p53

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NUMB Ex3‐containing isoforms localize to the plasma membrane, where they recruit p53 through SNX9 and direct it to multivesicular bodies and exosomes. Exported p53 is taken up by neighboring cells and activates nuclear programs, revealing an intercellular, exosome‐based pathway that might help establish a tumor‐suppressive microenvironment.

Phosphatidylinositol-linked glycans and phosphatidylinositol-anchored proteins of Tetrahymena mimbres

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1991
The insoluble residue from Tetrahymena mimbres cells that had been preincubated in vivo for 2 h with [3H]myristic acid and then exhaustively delipidated with organic solvents retained radioactivity, principally in material which migrated on sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis with an apparent molecular mass of 10-14 kDa.

Reprogramming the Myocardial Infarction Conductive Microenvironment with Superconductive Ionic Patch for Cardiac Function Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A super‐conductive ionic patch reprograms the post‐infarction microenvironment by enabling stable ionic migration and electrical signal transmission within damaged myocardium. The patch rapidly adheres to cardiac tissue, enhances conduction velocity, suppresses excitation‐contraction decoupling, and promotes structural and functional cardiac repair in ...

A comparison of five lipid extraction solvent systems for lipidomic studies of human LDL[S]

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2013
Lipidome profile of fluids and tissues is a growing field as the role of lipids as signaling molecules is increasingly understood, relying on an effective and representative extraction of the lipids present. A number of solvent systems suitable for lipid
